Andrew Jacob Rinehart (they/he)

I am an interdisciplinary artist working with Land, found materials, textiles, image, sound, listening, and the body to create performances, installations, and sculptures. Engaging with ideas of post-humanism, communion, and relationality, I explore the relationship between human and more-than-human worlds as a false dichotomy. Central to my practice has been intentional choices of tools and materials as an examination of our entwinment with non-human people and duties of care to Plants and Animals, and Lands and Waters. Creating with our more-than-human kin as a collaborator, my work is often ephemeral and situated within landscapes.

When I'm not working on my own projects, I'm nurturing budding creatives from my home studio, where I teach music through the harp.

I am grateful to reside in the Watershed of the Willow/Grand River, on the Haldimand Tract, traditional lands of the Anishnaabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Attawandaron peoples, on what is now known as Waterloo.
